2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range — apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet

HybridShopper45Community StarterAug 6, 20262024 Tesla Model Y Long RangeConnecticut
2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range, about 4,800 miles. I can charge at work sometimes but not at home. For people living in apartments, what combination of public charging, workplace charging and occasional fast charging has actually been practical? Any data points from owners would help.

It did apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2024 Tesla Model Y, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. Then you'll know the next fork. On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Tesla Model Y didn't change. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 Tesla Model Y so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Tesla Model Y in Connecticut with 4,800 miles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2024 Tesla Model Y — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. I'd do that before spending real money. Stop there until you know. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Agree — and I'd add this: On the 2024 Tesla Model Y, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. I'd do that before spending real money. On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Tesla Model Y in Connecticut with 4,800 miles. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather be boring and correct. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.
