2025 Lucid Air Pure — fast charging slows down earlier than it used to

DetailShopper95Community StarterJun 12, 20262025 Lucid Air PureBay Area
On road trips the car used to hold a higher charge rate longer. Now it starts tapering sooner even when the pack is warm. Could this be charger-side variation, battery temperature, software, or an actual battery-health issue? I'm in Bay Area. Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Lucid Air so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'd rather be boring and correct. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Not convinced that's the whole story. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Bay Area. Stop there until you know. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Lucid Air with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
CanyonMom18Community StarterCommunity StarterJun 14, 2026permalink
I'd push back a little: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Lucid Air price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In Bay Area, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Do that first. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Lucid Air numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Bay Area, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Lucid Air price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Stop there until you know. I'll update if anything new shows up.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Do that first. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Lucid Air is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “fast charging slows down earlier than it,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2025 Lucid Air and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Lucid Air so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Sleeping on the number either way.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Bay Area. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Lucid Air, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Bay Area before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “fast charging slows down earlier than it,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in Bay Area before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. If they balk, that's your answer. On “fast charging slows down earlier than it,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2025 Lucid Air quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.
