2025 Porsche Macan Electric 4S — apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet

EVGeek62Community StarterAug 23, 20262025 Porsche Macan Electric 4SLas Vegas
I can charge at work sometimes but not at home. For people living in apartments, what combination of public charging, workplace charging and occasional fast charging has actually been practical? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2025 Porsche Macan charge sessions. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2025 Porsche Macan — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. Then you'll know the next fork. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2025 Porsche Macan, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. That's where I'd start. On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2025 Porsche Macan so service can see what you saw. That's where I'd start. The universe charges extra for guessing. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2025 Porsche Macan didn't change. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Try a second charger before blaming the 2025 Porsche Macan — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. Then you'll know the next fork. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. On the 2025 Porsche Macan, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. I'd do that before spending real money. On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Update: the cheap test changed the symptom, so I'm not throwing parts yet. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I went back under the 2025 Porsche Macan and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Leave the alerts on the 2025 Porsche Macan so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Only after sitting overnight so far.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2025 Porsche Macan charge sessions. That's where I'd start. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

It did apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Quick add on that: On the 2025 Porsche Macan, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. Then you'll know the next fork. On “apartment charging without a dedicated garage outlet,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

OP update: scanned the 2025 Porsche Macan again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

OP here — recorded a short video and noted speed, temp, and whether it was in gear. I'll poke at it this weekend.
