50k-mile ownership check-in

CityEnthusiast92Community StarterJun 15, 20262024 BMW i4 eDrive40Seattle
Crossed 50k miles, so I figured I'd post what has actually broken, what maintenance cost, tire life, fuel economy, annoying quirks and whether I'd buy the same car again. Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Seattle changed the 2024 BMW i4 comparison more than the sale price did. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2024 BMW i4 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “mile ownership check-in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2024 BMW i4 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Seattle. That's the whole play. I'll update if anything new shows up.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2024 BMW i4 and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 BMW i4 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Seattle. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 BMW i4, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick update: a second 2024 BMW i4 quote made the first offer look ordinary. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 BMW i4 notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Seattle before you fall in love with the 2024 BMW i4. Do that before you talk monthly again. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
