Anyone else: One-year ownership: things reviews never mentioned

After a year, the things I care about aren't horsepower or 0–60 anymore. Seat comfort, camera behavior, storage, rattles, HVAC logic and service experience matter way more. Curious what surprised other owners. I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2023 Toyota 4Runner in Orange County, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “one-year ownership: things reviews never mentioned,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Toyota 4Runner in Orange County. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 Toyota 4Runner before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 Toyota 4Runner, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Agree — and I'd add this: A second data point from another 2023 Toyota 4Runner owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
