2022 Volkswagen GTI SE, about 14,500 miles. I want something I enjoy on back roads but still need to commute, carry luggage and survive bad weather. Trying to avoid buying a car that only makes sense on paper. What compromises have actually mattered after a year? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 Volkswagen GTI, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: On the 2022 Volkswagen GTI in Phoenix, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “car ownership,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
