Need advice: First HPDE — what actually needs to be changed?

EcoBuilder27Community StarterOct 5, 20252022 Volkswagen GTI SEOrange County
Doing my first beginner track day in an otherwise stock street car. I'm not trying to chase lap times. Beyond fresh fluid, pad thickness, tires and torque checks, what is actually necessary versus internet overkill? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread. What am I missing?

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Volkswagen GTI in Orange County, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “first hpde — what actually needs to,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd push back a little: Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 Volkswagen GTI before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2022 Volkswagen GTI in Orange County. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Following up on first hpde — what actually needs to: still happening, but I have better notes now. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
