Payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan

I was focused on tow rating until I started adding passengers, gear and tongue weight. Now payload looks like the real limit. How much buffer do you personally leave for a family towing setup? Any data points from owners would help.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Ford Bronco and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Ford Bronco is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “shopping plan,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Ford Bronco and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2023 Ford Bronco in Seattle. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 Ford Bronco numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Ford Bronco price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Ford Bronco is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. I'd rather be boring and correct. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. In Seattle, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Ford Bronco comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.
