Payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan

2024 Ford F-150 Lariat 3.5 EcoBoost, about 151,000 miles. I was focused on tow rating until I started adding passengers, gear and tongue weight. Now payload looks like the real limit. How much buffer do you personally leave for a family towing setup? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Ford F-150 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Yes, with one caveat: On the 2024 Ford F-150 in Chicago, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “shopping plan,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Ford F-150, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Stop there until you know. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
