1951 Ford F-1 Custom — need advice: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Ask for out-the-door on the 1951 Ford F-1 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'd rather be boring and correct. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 1951 Ford F-1 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 1951 Ford F-1 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 1951 Ford F-1 in Connecticut. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 1951 Ford F-1 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “1 custom — need advice: cpo luxury,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 1951 Ford F-1 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “1 custom — need advice: cpo luxury,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

If I were shopping this, in Connecticut, insurance quotes flipped a 1951 Ford F-1 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 1951 Ford F-1 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I would not stare at the monthly. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 1951 Ford F-1 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Was this after sitting overnight? Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Quick update: a second 1951 Ford F-1 quote made the first offer look ordinary. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Connecticut before you fall in love with the 1951 Ford F-1. Do that before you talk monthly again. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

If I were shopping this, two 1951 Ford F-1 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I would not stare at the monthly. If one piece looks too good on the 1951 Ford F-1, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
