1990 Ford F-150 XLT — first HPDE — what actually needs to be changed?

1990 Ford F-150 XLT, about 96,000 miles. Doing my first beginner track day in an otherwise stock street car. I'm not trying to chase lap times. Beyond fresh fluid, pad thickness, tires and torque checks, what is actually necessary versus internet overkill? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 1990 Ford F-150 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “150 xlt — first hpde — what,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.
