2013 Infiniti G37 — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke?

RotorWrench276Community StarterApr 25, 20262013 Infiniti G37 xSNationwide
2013 Infiniti G37 xS, about 157,000 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again. I would rather test this logically than replace parts. What would you check next?

Quick update: a second 2013 Infiniti G37 quote made the first offer look ordinary. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Infiniti G37 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in Nationwide before you fall in love with the 2013 Infiniti G37. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2013 Infiniti G37 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2013 Infiniti G37 numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Infiniti G37 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Yes, with one caveat: A written buyer’s order on the 2013 Infiniti G37 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Nationwide, insurance quotes flipped a 2013 Infiniti G37 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2013 Infiniti G37 in Nationwide with 157,000 miles. That's the whole play. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Infiniti G37 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Infiniti G37 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Asking because it changes the advice: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Infiniti G37 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2013 Infiniti G37. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2013 Infiniti G37 notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.

If I were shopping this, if they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2013 Infiniti G37 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Infiniti G37 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd push back a little: If one piece looks too good on the 2013 Infiniti G37, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2013 Infiniti G37 in Nationwide with 157,000 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Infiniti G37 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
