2016 Audi A4 — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke?

ApexWrench25Community StarterOct 21, 20252016 Audi A4 PremiumAustin
2016 Audi A4 Premium, about 105,500 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2016 Audi A4 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Austin, insurance quotes flipped a 2016 Audi A4 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. No need to make it theatrical. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Austin before you fall in love with the 2016 Audi A4. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2016 Audi A4 price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2016 Audi A4 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2016 Audi A4 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2016 Audi A4 notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2016 Audi A4 (105,500 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. Sleeping on the number either way.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2016 Audi A4 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Any freeze-frame data saved? Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2016 Audi A4 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2016 Audi A4 in Austin with 105,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2016 Audi A4. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2016 Audi A4 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
