2020 Kia Stinger — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? — Raleigh owner question

PistonBuyer760Community StarterSep 21, 20252020 Kia Stinger GT2Raleigh
2020 Kia Stinger GT2, about 101,500 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again. I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Raleigh, insurance quotes flipped a 2020 Kia Stinger comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2020 Kia Stinger quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2020 Kia Stinger in Raleigh with 101,500 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2020 Kia Stinger is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2020 Kia Stinger in Raleigh with 101,500 miles. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2020 Kia Stinger and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2020 Kia Stinger, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2020 Kia Stinger in Raleigh with 101,500 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Raleigh, insurance quotes flipped a 2020 Kia Stinger comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2020 Kia Stinger in Raleigh with 101,500 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2020 Kia Stinger so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd rather be boring and correct. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2020 Kia Stinger. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2020 Kia Stinger so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? That's my plan before I call anyone.

I asked about 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? — again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in Raleigh before you fall in love with the 2020 Kia Stinger. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2020 Kia Stinger in Raleigh with 101,500 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2020 Kia Stinger numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

If I were shopping this, two 2020 Kia Stinger quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.
