2021 Nissan Rogue SV — need advice: Tires or brake pads first for autocross?

2021 Nissan Rogue SV, about 1,200 miles. Budget only allows one upgrade before my first season. Current tires are decent street tires and pads are basic replacement pads. Which upgrade actually helps a beginner learn more? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 Nissan Rogue before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. Stop there until you know. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2021 Nissan Rogue owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
