2022 Ford Maverick — costs that mattered more than fuel economy

2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid, about 44,500 miles. After owning the car for a while, tires, insurance and service pricing mattered more than the MPG difference I obsessed over before buying. What ownership costs surprised you most?

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Ford Maverick, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “costs that mattered more than fuel economy,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Two 2022 Ford Mavericks can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.
