2023 Jeep Wrangler — delayed engagement into Drive when cold

BatteryCommuter524Community StarterNov 26, 20252023 Jeep Wrangler RubiconTampa
After sitting overnight, shifting from Park to Drive can take a second or two before the vehicle actually engages. Once warm it behaves normally. Would you start with fluid, adaptation data, mounts or something mechanical?

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler didn't change. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2023 Jeep Wrangler is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2023 Jeep Wrangler in Tampa. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'd rather be boring and correct. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Ask what changed right before it started. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Checking again after work.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. On “delayed engagement into drive when cold,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Jeep Wrangler in Tampa. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Heat soak after errands is the other window.
