2023 Lincoln Navigator Reserve — anyone else: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them?

If I were shopping this, in San Diego, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Lincoln Navigator comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. The universe charges extra for guessing. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If one piece looks too good on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd push back a little: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Lincoln Navigator and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “anyone else: cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2023 Lincoln Navigator in San Diego. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in San Diego before you fall in love with the 2023 Lincoln Navigator. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “anyone else: cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Lincoln Navigator and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If one piece looks too good on the 2023 Lincoln Navigator, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If the story changes I'll post the new data.

On “anyone else: cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
