2024 Kia EV9 — dealer APR is higher than my credit-union preapproval — anyone dealt with this recently?

I have a preapproval in hand and the dealer offered a higher rate. Is there any reason to let them try to beat it, and how should I compare lender fees or incentives instead of only APR?

Title status is the whole conversation. Independent PPI on the 2024 Kia EV9 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Kia EV9 notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Yes, with one caveat: Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2024 Kia EV9. That's where I'd start. On “dealer apr is higher than my credit-union,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Kia EV9 in Detroit. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Asking because it changes the advice: A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2024 Kia EV9 is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2024 Kia EV9, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. Do that first. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.
