2024 Polestar 2 — how are owners measuring real battery degradation? — buyer question from Miami

2024 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor, about 39,000 miles. Displayed range moves too much with weather and recent driving to be a useful health metric by itself. What repeatable measurements do you trust for tracking battery degradation over time?

I went back under the 2024 Polestar 2 and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Log the conditions before you spend. Capture voltage while the 2024 Polestar 2 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Polestar 2 does it — then decide on parts. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

OP update: scanned the 2024 Polestar 2 again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Polestar 2 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Miami with 39,000 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

Agree — and I'd add this: Two 2024 Polestar 2s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Miami with 39,000 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.
