2024 Polestar 2 — service lifetime transmission fluid or leave it alone?

CanyonMiles540Community StarterJan 5, 20262024 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual MotorPortland
The manual treats the fluid as lifetime under normal conditions, but the vehicle is getting older and I plan to keep it. What are owners doing in practice, and why choose drain-and-fill versus an exchange?

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Polestar 2 does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. No need to make it theatrical. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

Ask what changed right before it started. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 Polestar 2 and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Portland. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'll poke at it this weekend.

If it were in my driveway, move a coil or plug on the 2024 Polestar 2 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Ask what changed right before it started. Capture voltage while the 2024 Polestar 2 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Portland. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Heat soak after errands is the other window.
