2024 Rivian R1S — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke?

ProjectOwner137Community StarterJul 7, 20262024 Rivian R1S Dual-MotorSacramento
2024 Rivian R1S Dual-Motor, about 30,000 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again. Mostly looking for the right next step.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Rivian R1S notes. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Rivian R1S and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2024 Rivian R1S in Sacramento with 30,000 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Rivian R1S and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. When does it actually happen? Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Yes, with one caveat: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Rivian R1S so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather be boring and correct. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Rivian R1S is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's my plan before I call anyone.
