2024 Rivian R1S — how much room below MSRP when inventory is normal?

TrackCollectorCommunity StarterMar 14, 20262024 Rivian R1S Dual-MotorConnecticut
I am shopping a new car with several similar units sitting nearby. Dealer started at MSRP plus fees. What is the best way to use competing written quotes without turning the process into endless back-and-forth?

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 Rivian R1S so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. Any freeze-frame data saved? Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Only after sitting overnight so far.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 Rivian R1S charge sessions. Then you'll know the next fork. When does it actually happen? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2024 Rivian R1S and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2024 Rivian R1S — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. That's where I'd start. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'll poke at it this weekend.

Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2024 Rivian R1S, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. That's where I'd start. On “how much room below msrp when inventory,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.
