2025 Lucid Air — how are owners measuring real battery degradation?

CanyonSellerCommunity StarterJul 15, 20262025 Lucid Air PureDenver
2025 Lucid Air Pure, about 22,000 miles. Displayed range moves too much with weather and recent driving to be a useful health metric by itself. What repeatable measurements do you trust for tracking battery degradation over time? Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

OP update: scanned the 2025 Lucid Air again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Asking because it changes the advice: Capture voltage while the 2025 Lucid Air is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Capture voltage while the 2025 Lucid Air is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Denver with 22,000 miles. No need to make it theatrical. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

If it were in my driveway, if a shop can't duplicate it on the 2025 Lucid Air, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. That's the sequence I'd use. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2025 Lucid Air and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Denver with 22,000 miles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Lucid Air, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Quick add on that: Move a coil or plug on the 2025 Lucid Air if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Denver with 22,000 miles. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Ask what changed right before it started. Two 2025 Lucid Airs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Denver with 22,000 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Log the conditions before you spend. Capture voltage while the 2025 Lucid Air is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2025 Lucid Airs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. That's the sequence I'd use. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. That's my plan before I call anyone.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2025 Lucid Air does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Denver with 22,000 miles. That's the whole play. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2025 Lucid Air is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'd rather be boring and correct. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Move a coil or plug on the 2025 Lucid Air if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. No need to make it theatrical. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

When does it actually happen? Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

Yes, with one caveat: Move a coil or plug on the 2025 Lucid Air if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Capture voltage while the 2025 Lucid Air is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

On “how are owners measuring real battery degradation,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

It did how are owners measuring real battery degradation twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Asking because it changes the advice: Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2025 Lucid Air and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
