2025 Lucid Air Pure — question: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

ColdStartCollector64Community StarterOct 27, 20252025 Lucid Air PureBoston / New England
Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? I'm in Boston / New England. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Boston / New England, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Boston / New England. The universe charges extra for guessing. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Lucid Air so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “question: cpo luxury suv or brand-new mainstream,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Lucid Air so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Boston / New England changed the 2025 Lucid Air comparison more than the sale price did. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Boston / New England, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Lucid Air numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “question: cpo luxury suv or brand-new mainstream,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Boston / New England. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Boston / New England before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Boston / New England. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather be boring and correct. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
