Delayed engagement into Drive when cold

OldSchoolHunterCommunity StarterSep 4, 20262025 Porsche Macan Electric 4SPhiladelphia
2025 Porsche Macan Electric 4S, about 22,000 miles. On cold mornings, shifting from Park to Drive takes a second or two before the car actually engages. Once warm it's instant and shifts fine. Fluid level/condition is my first thought, but what else should I check? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Porsche Macan, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2025 Porsche Macan in Philadelphia with 22,000 miles. Was this after sitting overnight? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Porsche Macan, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Porsche Macan, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2025 Porsche Macan if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “delayed engagement into drive when cold,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Ask what changed right before it started. Move a coil or plug on the 2025 Porsche Macan if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2025 Porsche Macan in Philadelphia with 22,000 miles. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2025 Porsche Macan is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
