Question: Hybrid MPG suddenly down with no warning lights

NorthOwnerCommunity StarterJun 17, 20262022 Ford Maverick XLT HybridChicago
Same commute, same driver, but average MPG dropped pretty sharply over the last month. Tire pressure is good. What hybrid-specific things are worth checking before assuming the battery is getting weak? I'm in Chicago. Any data points from owners would help.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2022 Ford Maverick owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Do that first. I'd rather be boring and correct. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Ford Maverick in Chicago, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “hybrid mpg suddenly down with no warning,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I parked the 2022 Ford Maverick and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 Ford Maverick, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. The universe charges extra for guessing. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Same neighborhood, different next step: A second data point from another 2022 Ford Maverick owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Stop there until you know. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
