2018 Kia Optima EX, about 102,500 miles. After owning the car for a while, tires, insurance and service pricing mattered more than the MPG difference I obsessed over before buying.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2018 Kia Optima before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. That's the whole play. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Quick add on that: A second data point from another 2018 Kia Optima owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'd rather be boring and correct. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
